Initial release



version 1.1

Added the "Floater". an enemy to appear in the genoko forest that does not attack but spams status effect spells. if afflicted with silence, will use regular attacks instead, traits, higher HP and ATK than other enemies of the same level.

added "Health Bars" to enemies during battle. they will appear during enemy selection, and turn execution

nerfed the one eyed monster boss: before-> 150 HP, after-> 100 HP.

nerfed forsque village encounter rate. before-> 30 steps average. after-> 45 steps average.

increased forsque village bunker encounter rate ever so slightly. before-> 50 steps average. after-> 45 steps average.

nerfed Ultima's damage.

patched an issue in the park added in 1.1 in which some items in the park would not respond when clicked on.

patched an issue from the initial release in which sione would not wander around after spoken to.

added the bloody slime to the dripping caves. has average stats for it's level, but has a 1/3 chance of casting Curaga

added the Skeleton to the cursed insect nest. a generic enemy with average stats

added the thorn whip, a weapon that costs 800 but sells for 500, decreases your attack stat by 25% but allows you to hit every enemy with a normal

attack

buffed the protective bow to increase your Max HP by 10% instead of 5%

increased the speed at which the monster coin drop in the park animates.

added a large sum of items to the "Item Theft" pool



version 1.3 (Major Content Update)(semi-broken)

Updated the Save screen. more control over it and more information as to the state of the save game

Updated the battle victory sequence to show more in depth what was aquired

nerfed the max item stack size from 99 down to 20. if you have a save game already from an older version with over 20 items, you'll be allowed to keep the excess but as soon as you use one all the overflow will disapear

buffed the cursed victim magic stat. increased from 1 -> 12

Nerfed Ashley's HP curve. her Max HP will no longer reach 9999 by level 99 and she will have less HP now.

Nerfed the player's attack build tension charge rate. 125% -> 115%

Nerfed Sin-Spawn Kairo. 80,000 HP -> 60,000 HP

Removed Sin-Spawn Kairo's Health Bar due to the fact his health bar would go off screen during his battle

Changed niventi's name in his first phase to be "Tetrynite Niventi"

You will now recover your HP and MP upon level up

Nerfed the rate at which wisps drop Heart-Pattern Quilts. 1/8 chance -> 1/15 chance

removed items from the armor shop in quainty dainty

Removed the save point next to the entrance of the second floor of gillicut castle. as it was redundant

Removed the save point next to the forsaken caves on the world map and moved the save point near the cursed insect nest

added a missing game over sequence to the forced loss against niventi

added brick-bears side quest

patched an issue where clicking on the old womans lamp in the menu would result in using it. granted there were no effects, you weren't supposed to be able to use it at all

patched a huge recurring bug added due to ignorance during development that caused certain cutscenes to say the name of the character in party slot 1. which isn't nessacarily the player's entered name

changed jakob to only auto-battle until he joins the party for real

changed Ciril's dialogue to match the fact he didn't know jakob couldn't cast spells

add the item "Mega-Ether". added it to item shops, chests and early-to-mid game enemy drops

Fixed a myriad of capitalization issues in the item descriptions

patched a huge recurring issue where you could break the narrative by going to locations before certain story events have actually happened



version 1.4

fixed an issue added in 1.3 where the blue grenosa had too high a chance to cast esunaga.

fixed an issue added in 1.3 where the battle maiden and chikarokas wouldn't have health bars during battle.

fixed some issues in brinko's bar due to the fact it was neglected during testing. (capitalization, logic etc.)

added the song "astronaut in the ocean" by masked wolf to the self-playing piano in brinko's bar

added the song "death bed" by beabadoobee to the self-playing piano in brinko's bar

noting a missing patchnote in 1.3 "added brinko's bar interior"

fixed an issue added in version 1.3 in which, after defeating emerald death, the screen tint would not go away until the game was reloaded.

fixed a critical issue from 1.3 where upon entering the endless night area, the battle music would remain the same as the area theme until you entered an area that would alter the battle music again, even upon reloading the game. (e.x. the infinity maze, niventi's castle)

made a game breaking speedrun strat, "a feature"

added barriers to prevent the players from straying from the designated path during the chase sequence right before the post game (ngl, should've added this one in 1.0



version 1.6 

patched a minor logic error in which a chest required for a post-game quest would spawn without having started it yet, hurting the narrative and just not making sense.



version 1.7

Added a new plugin that improves performance on low framerates and prevents bugs on higher than 61+ framerates



version 1.8 (Major Rebalance Update)

added the skill "scan" will display the alphabetical ID of the enemy in battle as well as it's current HP. will not display enemy NAME because I couldn't figure out how to store that into a variable.

added a new plugin that shows a screen during the victory aftermath that will show exactly what stats went up, how much they went up, and the abilities that were learned.

buffed the weapon dropped by the level 99's attack power. 1998dmg -> 999999dmg

buffed all level 75 enemies. (roughly) ~10000hp -> ~45000hp

added 3 more MP boosts to the chest in archadia

re-balanced every single character's role in the party, as well as reblanced the stats and skills they learn, removed the option to choose a magic build during the tutorial. (every character now has a purpose, and you won't fight with a freaking wiki page by level 30. well, sione might.)(if you are playing on an old save and chose the magic build for ciril, you will default to the defense build instead)(note, cheatcode name saves are not supported. potential bugs in that.)

re-wrote and ret-conned jakob's lack of spells and skills

nerfed all the level 2 and level 3 enemies and decreased the EXP dropped by them

re-wrote a small portion of dialogue in the intro

rescaled the EXP earnings and stats of several late/side game enemies

added the bomb enemy. a level 13 enemy with lower HP, base 1 stats across the board, but will self destruct after 3 turns if not killed by then. dealing 425 fire damage - defense to all allies. is one of the earliest chances for an enemy to drop a grenade and/or a firaga bracer

added the level 99 spells Dynama and Nihil. nihil will not be castable even if at level 99. the only character who can learn nihil will be sione, but her max MP by lvl 99 will not be high enough, spam MP boosts until you have 2000 MP. can kill anything instantly.

nerfed venom to last only one turn

updated the metal pipe to actually have a metal pipe sprite

added the missing death animation to the tutorial boss

locked niventi's equipment for the short time he's on the party so you cannot simply steal his weapon and armor

changed the equipment niventi has to make him more OP while on the party

added the Mana-Hoarder and Mana-Zero Weapons

changed the Catch-me-if-you-can's drops. speed boost 1/9 -> attack boost 1/15

added the fluffy coat, mana bracer, and devil-deal armors

rebalanced the skills MP to tension and tension to MP

removed a spider from the quad spider encounter in forsque village

updated some enemy drops to offer more mega-potions

updated the move description of the skill release tension to more accurately represent it.

reduced the tension requirments for the skills dual attack, double attack, and triple attack

removed differeing spells from mage type enemies, as this would make them hard to guard against. up until the level 26 ice caves, mages only have 1 spell element (wisps only cast aero, spiders only cast thunder etc.)

lowered the rate at which the lv. 9 assasin's TP charges due to the fact the skills he uses cost less tension now, making them much more spammable for him

added 2 new level 28 enemies. the regenerative slime and the venom spitter, designed to be harder to kill as well as increase the difficulty of the late game encounters

added the skill pin-point, attacks an enemy's weak spot, doing as much damage as a critical hit. late game skill.

updated the prices of single use spell items and added them to the tent shop

removed the fire spirits magic resistance and replaced it with physical resistance. as even spells like water that it is weak to weren't doing significant damage

made it so niventi's last desperation attack will only trigger once his health is depleted, not once he drops below 10%

rebalanced the elemental crystals (fire crystal, thunder crystal etc.) to more accurately match a level 14 tier 2 spell

fixed a game-breaking softlock caused by the chest that blocks the way resetting to it's original location if the game has reloaded in the genoko estate

edited the event code of the man in asacan port who sells rare items to be more "haha funny"

added a new optional dungeon to the early game area. featuring 2 original enemies!

added a boss rush available in greener past times, prize is 5 monster coins



version 1.9

patched a small issue where a level 4 emeies spell would do no damage

added missing health bars to level 4 enemies



version 2.0 (Quality of life and minor rebalance)

patched a small bug that has been in the game for a long time where the puppet master would not do any damage upon casting thundaga. due to a low magic stat of 1

gave the venemous corpse the ability to drain your MP to further increase difficulty

gave 2 enemies in niventi's castle the ability to drain MP and inflict venom to further increase the difficulty respectivley

also nerfed forsque village encounters across the board

added some quality of life features such as: the game auto starting a new game if you don't have a save file, a fullscreen option in the menu. a new name input command window, and an exit game feature

added a screen explaining some basic controls for first time players just in case they don't bother to listen to a tutorial or prefer a wall of text like in kingdom hearts or final fantasy titles.

added a choice for some early game support for players new to the genre via extra items making early game more bearable

buffed: magic staff, combat sword, archery bow, soldier's armor, and wizard hat to be better early and late game armors

VERY VERY VERY SLIGHTLY nerfed the attack build's SUPER early game Defense stat. 

added the funny guy to the forsque village encounter list



version 2.1

patched a game breaking softlock from release in which the rock that talks in the lv 28 sanubia canyon would not move if the player interacted with it, moved it. reloaded the screen, and had not beaten hatred. triggered via a logic error



version 2.2 (major content update + feature update)

added the monster arena side quest (dubbed the duck life quest)

added mini stat boosts called tokens. they sell for 750, cost 1500 and grant 1/4th the amount of increase given by stat boosts

added stat tokens to early game enemy drops

added stat tokens to the item theft pool

(sort of) patched the EXP0 name cheat code to actually work (only applies to ciril as issue are caused by the way the cheat works, and it will break when applied to jakob, idfk man game development is hard)

increased the price elixirs cost to buy and sell for

added a tic tac toe minigame in several locations.

patched a bug from release in which no one was vulnerable to death

increased bio's affliction rate from 75% to 100%

decreased the threshold at which no one can cast cura on herself from 50% HP to 25% HP

patched a bug added in 1.3 in which you could repeatedly buy the dolacyte battery and lose 400K without warning.

patched a bug added in 1.3 in which after completeing the floating city side quest you wouldn't actually have the dolacyte battery removed from your inventory

added stat tokens to the universal item shop

buffed the HP boost to warrant a 60 point increase. 

buffed nihil to do a few more numbers of damage for the shock value. changed the description.

added the item "Game Ticket" to be used as currency for entering into the new matchcard minigame

changed enemy drops around the sanubia mining district to offer game tickets

changed the iconset that the game uses due to an alternate having more options without breaking structure

patched a bug from release in which the old woman's lamp side quest could be locked if certain dialogue options are picked

added in-game achievements (and none of those "play the game for the first time" ones, gross... except for one but that's... to show the player they exist.) note that older saves will be locked out of certain achievments depending on current progress, this is caused by certain interactions now having switches and variables attached to them that didn't exist before, for the sake of tracking the achievment progress. a fresh save from 2.2 onward is now required for tracking 100% completion

patched a small, specific, issue from release in which no one has a small but existant chance to say the wrong name depending on when she enters your party and whether or not she is populated into slot 7

dramatically buffed the amount of gil earned from defeating the chub

increased the level displayed at the waterworks cave to be more difficulty accurate. 30 -> 40

fixed a map design issue in which the exit to the cursed insect nest did not have a wall

added an instructional breathing tutorial from my own youtube channel in the genoko forest

fixed a broken event in william's house where you rob his chest right in front of him. being able to take more money during certain parts of the story

added proper main story difficulty options. and NOT just decreasing the player stats or making the enemies harder. higher numbers isn't harder. it's annoying. Fabled will make certain items more scarce, higher emphasis on strategy, whilst Casual will make items more plentiful, nerf encounters, and reduce the amount of planning and strategy required for battles. (will not apply to side/post content) most enemies now have attack options only available during hard mode

nerfed nivinti: the first divinity's chance to cast comply, and removed the chance to cast death

moved the save point in the genoko estate to make it more obvious there is one

added a save point beside the beeg door in taiko's palace

removed a soft-soft lock in taiko's palace by removing the option to save before the fight immediatly begins in case you are too low level and can't progress

added a pseudo intentional exploit into the game's new easy mode. selling boosts warrants 6000 gil. but they cost 5000 in the 2 little kid shops on easy. thus, infinite money if desired. (coded it. realized the cost is lower than the sell, said "fuck it, they chose easy mode for a reason")

patched a bug in which the level 3 cockatrice has thunder in it's moveset but no MP to cast it with

added a new sign in the tutorial caves that explains what each stat is

slightly altered the world map interaction.



version 2.3

patched an issue from 2.2 in which the 30th level in the monster arena was unintentionally set to be a solo battle, making it impossible by design

patched an issue from 2.2 in which the yu pagodas "energize" the wrong target



version 2.4

patched a bug with level 30 in the monster arena where [boss name] wouldn't actually use the moveset he was SUPPOSED to have in phase 2, instead opting to just not use them at all due to the fact I never actually coded the moves to propagate into his set. the fight now works as intended 2 patches ago. [note to self, playtest features before deployment]

patched in a tailor made easter egg for a certain ore (you know who you are)(IRL names will be PRIVATE)

patched an issue from version 2.2 in which casual mode in the ice session, would send you to the wrong variant of the room.

tweaked dynama's damage calculation to get along with mana zero better



version 2.5

added an overworld exclusive HUD with relevant information. (gil, level, hp and mp, a compass)

increased stat caps across the board for goooofiness, and to make the attack stat relevant again/grant possibility for increased tankines 

(999 max lv. 9999 max stat. 99,999 max HP/MP)

patched an issue added in 2.4 in which the final boss of the monster arena wouldn't actually say his death lines.

buffed the final boss of the monster arena to better challenge heightened stat caps

propagated Wateraga into the lv 9 jellyfish's moveset on fabled difficulty

patched a bug from 2.2 in which bob would not repopulate into the party after kairo's scripted escape

patched a bug from 1.8 in which the venom spitter casting aeroga wouldn't actually do any damage, caused by a magic stat of 1

gave most bosses resistance to move cancelling/altering states

patched a logic error that could prevent hatred from casting total anhillation on turn 10

increased difficulty on all settings. late game encounters will now start to resist "cheese" states (sleep, silence, confuse) and fabled difficulty now features more exlusive moves in enemy movesets

rebalanced the final boss fight against niventi slightly. he earns less turns at the cost of a harder fight

renamed the niventi fight in the monster arena to "the fist clone" rather than divinity

added duck boss. added duck boss. added duck boss achievment (NOTE: THE ACHIEVEMENT IS NOT VIEWABLE ON SAVE FILES AT VERSION 2.2 OR HIGHER)
